Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national level examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for candidates aspiring to become teachers in government and government aided schools across India. CTET is mandatory for teaching positions in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), and schools under the administrative control of the Central Government.

CTET consists of two papers: Paper I is for candidates who wish to teach classes I to V (Primary Level), and Paper II is for those aiming to teach classes VI to VIII (Upper Primary Level). Candidates intending to teach both levels must appear for both papers. Each paper includes multiple choice questions covering subjects such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and II, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Science, and Social Studies, depending on the paper chosen.

The CTET certificate is now valid for a lifetime, which makes it highly valuable for teaching aspirants. Clearing CTET does not guarantee a job, but it is an essential eligibility criterion for recruitment. CTET question papers are known for testing conceptual understanding, teaching aptitude, and subject knowledge. Proper preparation using previous year question papers, mock tests, and syllabus based study greatly increases the chances of success in the CTET examination.
